Desde de la crisis Argentina del 2001, más de 6000 familiass sobreviven de la recolección diaria de los materiales reciclables encontrados en la residuos domiciliarios de Buenos Aires. Aparecen al anochecer y llegan en trenes, camiones o a pié, la mayoría proviene de las zonas más necesitadas de la provincia. A pesar de su notoria presencia los llamados Cartoneros se permanecen ocultos frente a los ojos de la ciudad. Esta película conecta intimamente y nos muestra las historias e individuos detras de las carretas.

Seit dem Wirtschaftszusammenbruch von 2001 prägt ein unübersehbares Phänomen das Stadtbild von Buenos Aires: Mehr als 6000 Abfallsammler, die sog. Cartoneros, befahren täglich die Straßen mit Handkarren und sammeln jegliche verkauf- und verwertbare Materialen aus den Müllbeuteln der Anwohner. Trotz der alltäglichen Präsenz bleibt ihr Alltag der Stadtbevölkerung verborgen, denn sie erscheinen erst ab der Abenddämmerung mit Zügen und Lastwagen aus den ärmeren Gegenden der Provinz. Der Film bleibt an ihren Fersen haften und zeigt Personen und Geschichten, die sich hinter den Handkarren finden.

Since the Argentinian economic collapse of 2001 more than 6,000 people where driven to the street everyday with handcarts to collect the recyclable material found in the waste of local residents in the City of Buenos Aires. They appear in the nightfall as they arrive to the city in trains and trucks that come from the poorer parts of the province. Despite the daily presence, the so-called Cartoneros remain hidden to the eyes of the city. The film sticks close to these individuals to show the story’s that rest behind their handcart.
